Chamber Announces Theme, Keynote Speaker for 72nd Annual Dinner
Greater Madison’s premier business event happening Oct. 21 at Monona Terrace

MADISON – On Oct. 21, the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce will welcome nearly 1,300 business and community leaders to Monona Terrace for its 72nd Annual Dinner, presented by Madison College. This is the region’s largest business event of its kind and the Chamber’s most impactful program of the year.
The evening’s keynote speaker is Daryl Fairweather, chief economist at the real estate brokerage and technology firm Redfin. Fairweather holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a master’s and Ph.D. in economics from the University of Chicago.
This year’s theme, Switch, evokes the pivotal juncture at which Greater Madison finds itself and sets the tone for the next chapter of growth and development in the region. The past decade of accelerated growth has created a momentum that propels the region forward. The choice remains between continuing down the current track or making a Switch.
“Greater Madison’s success now demands a Switch — in our perspective, our thinking, our willingness to work together and in our actions,” said Chamber President Zach Brandon. “At this year’s Annual Dinner, with the help of Daryl Fairweather’s keen understanding of what decisions matter and how those decisions are made, we will activate this Switch together.”
Prior to joining Redfin, Fairweather worked as a researcher at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston studying why homeowners entered foreclosure during the 2008 housing crisis, then as a senior economist at Amazon working on employee engagement and managing a team of analysts. Her insights have been featured in “60 Minutes,” The New York Times and The Washington Post. Her 2025 book “Hate the Game” offers “cheat codes” for some of the most common dilemmas in life and business.
Tickets to the 72nd Annual Dinner are still available but expected to sell out soon. Learn more and register to attend on the Chamber’s website: madisonbiz.com/annual-events/
