School Makes a Difference
Support our Madison middle schools by signing up for School Makes a Difference (SMAD)!
This series of events, co-sponsored by the Madison Metropolitan School District and the Chamber, is designed to expose eighth graders to a variety of people and their stories across diverse careers, education levels and personal backgrounds. We also invite YOU to share your career story with eighth graders as they consider their pathways through high school and beyond.
SMAD is an opportunity for students to learn about careers and professional journeys from adults in our community. As a speaker, you’ll meet eighth-grade students and share your story: What did you want to be when you grew up? How has that changed over time, and what unexpected turns did your journey take? What do you do now, what do you like about it, and what skills, knowledge and education do you need for your job? What advice or insights do you wish you could go back and share with your eighth-grade self?
To register as a speaker, please fill out this sign-up form. You can select as many events as you like; if you select an event, please ensure that you can commit to the full duration of the event. Please note that some events have morning and afternoon shifts; you’re welcome to sign up for both!
