FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
For the 11th Year in a Row, CEC Makes SCN Magazine’s Top 50 List
Since 2006, CEC has been named to Systems Contractor News’ Top 50 Systems Integrators list, which ranks projected systems integration revenue
Hiawatha, IA (Dec. 4, 2017) – CEC, a nationally recognized systems and technology integrator based in Hiawatha, IA, is excited to announce that, for the 11th consecutive year, it has been named to the SCN Top 50 Systems Integrators List. Of the 50 companies on the list, CEC is also the longest-running integration firm recognized across the country.
Every year, SCN identifies 50 U.S. integration firms that go above and beyond to set the standard for other integrators. Ranked by projected AV systems integration revenue, the list is a compilation of audiovisual integrators that demonstrated business stability, financial responsibility, and growth in 2017. This year, CEC placed at No. 35 on the list – up two spots from last year’s rank of No. 37.
AV is just one of the many technology integration solutions CEC offers. IT, safety and security, structured cabling, and two-way communications systems can all be integrated with AV solutions to improve safety, efficiency, productivity, and profits.
“Not only are we proud to be part of this list for the 11th year in a row,” says Matt Dlouhy, CEO at CEC, “but we’re just as proud of the fact that we’ve been in business for more than seven decades. For 71 years, CEC has been dedicated to improving the customer experience. As the industry and our clients’ needs change, so do we – which is how we thrive.”
“The industry as a whole has grown considerably from last year, with a projected $4.27 billion in commercial AV installation revenue,” says SCN Editor Megan A. Dutta. “That’s an increase of about 12 percent year-over-year from last year’s projections of $3.82 billion.”

EatStreet co-founders named to the Forbes 30 Under 30
High-profile honorees include Madison company’s CEO and chief technology officer
Madison, Wisconsin – Forbes has named EatStreet co-founders Matt Howard and Alex Wyler to its prestigious 2018 30 Under 30, unveiled today.
Howard, CEO, and Wyler, chief technology officer, were named to the consumer technology category, marking the first time Wisconsin tech startup leaders were chosen by Forbes for this category. The 30 Under 30 includes 600 winners, ranging from top entrepreneurs and innovators to philanthropists and difference-makers.
“Matt and Alex had a vision from day one to build a pioneering, tech-based business in the Midwest,” said Joe Kirgues of gener8tor. “Being named to Forbes 30 Under 30 is reflective of their dedication to creating a successful business and solving a problem consumers care about.”
Inclusion on the list further solidifies that EatStreet’s ongoing growth and customer-focused strategies are not only effective, but also respected nationally. The recognition comes on the heels of consistent national sales growth, the addition of delivery as a core service and more than $38.5 million in venture capital funding.
Howard and Wyler co-founded EatStreet in a University of Wisconsin dorm room in 2010 to address food delivery problems they faced: trivial consumer delivery fees and lackluster service to restaurants. They’ve since built an intuitive online food-ordering and delivery platform, including a website and apps, to provide an experience that erases the distance between hungry and happy for 1.7 million diners in 250-plus U.S. cities.
“It’s amazing to be recognized on this list with other young people who are improving and changing the world,” said Matt Howard, CEO of EatStreet. “This recognition is a big deal for us, but we hope it goes beyond that by bringing more attention to our Midwest tech community, which is vibrant and full of talent.”
