The Creative Company Wins Platinum in the 2023 MarCom Awards
This marks the fourth MarCom Award for the public relations, marketing, and web development firm
MADISON, Wis. (March, 2024) – In the 2023 international creative competition for marketing and communications professionals, The Creative Company wins a Platinum MarCom Award in the video campaign category.
The Creative Company was one of 6,500 entries in 2023, submitting materials from its recruitment video campaign for One City Schools in Madison. The campaign featured creative illustrations, strategic messaging, the production of seven compelling videos, and a Google Ads campaign.
“A successful campaign begins with first defining the goals, creating a budget, determining the target audience, selecting the media, developing the message, and then creating something worth watching,” The Creative Company President and Founder Laura Gallagher said. “I’m very proud of our team and their results for One City School. Sarah Schilling established the messaging and creative direction; Tyler Grimh and Cassandra Bretl led the filming and editing; and Craig Hadley orchestrated the Google Ads campaign.”
MarCom Awards recognize outstanding achievement by creative professionals involved in the concept, direction, design, and production of marketing and communication materials and programs.
Sponsored and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP), MarCom is one of the oldest, largest, and most respected creative competitions in the world.
Not only did Creative Company’s campaign win an award, but their work also exceeded One City Schools’ initial goal: to boost enrollment numbers. The school continued running the video series past its expected air date so more community stakeholders could watch and understand what sets their school apart.
“They captured the exact same things that we really needed to; the messages that we needed to get across to people, and they nailed it,” One City Schools CEO Kaleem Caire said.

Summit Named One of America’s Top Credit Unions
Newsweek Magazine rankings based on member feedback and institution’s financial health
February 14, 2024 (Madison, WI) – Newsweek Magazine’s 2024 list of America’s Best Regional Banks and Credit Unions included Madison-based Summit Credit Union as one of the top 250 credit unions. The rankings were based on a mix of consumer/member input and financial performance and stability factors.
“We’re honored to be included among Newsweek’s top credit unions, not only because it is based in part on reviews by our own members, but also because our financial strength and stability was part of the award criteria,” said Kim Sponem, CEO & President of Summit Credit Union. “Newsweek’s team looked at factors such as our financial reserves and ability to absorb economic downturns, strong lending activity, and reputation in making this group of America’s best credit unions.”
Newsweek partnered with research company Plant A Insights Group to compile the list based on an analysis of the financial health and stability of 9,440 institutions, 35,000 customer interviews and more than 149 million online reviews and applied a rigorous methodology to their selection process.
“As financial cooperatives owned by their members, [credit unions] foster a sense of shared ownership and responsibility. This unique structure translates into a commitment to the financial well-being of its members, often resulting in lower fees, competitive interest rates, and a more flexible approach to lending,” said Nancy Cooper, Newsweek’s global editor-in-chief.

Summit holds 6.9 billion in assets and has more than 255,500 members and 954 employees across 57 locations throughout Wisconsin.
