Agrace Offers Virtual and In-Person Grief Support in September
In September, Agrace is offering one-on-one grief support and professionally led grief support groups to anyone, even if the person who died did not have hospice care.
- One-on-one grief support is available in-person, by phone or video chat.
- Bridges is for adults grieving the death of any loved one. Meetings are held every other Wednesday and pre-registration is required. In-person meetings are September 7 and 21, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the Agrace Grief Support Center. Virtual meetings are September 14 and 28, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., online.
- Grief on the Move invites any adult to join Agrace grief specialists for a gentle walk to connect, heal and ease the isolation of grief. The group meets September 6 and 20, from noon to 1 p.m., at the Agrace Grief Support Center to walk the paved Badger State Trail, weather permitting. There is no cost to attend this group.
- Journey Through Grief is a grief support group series for adults. The virtual group meets Tuesdays, September 8 to October 13, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., via Zoom.
- LGBTQ+ Spouse/Partner Grief Support is a seven-week grief support group for people in the LGBTQ+ community who have experienced the death of a partner/spouse. It meets Wednesdays, September 7 to October 19, from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Agrace Grief Support Center.
There is no fee for these programs if a participant’s family member was in hospice care in the past 12 months; fees for others can be lowered or waived, if needed. Call (608) 327-7118 with questions, to register or make an appointment.

National Guardian Life Insurance Company sells Settlers Life Insurance Company
Madison, Wis. (July 25, 2022) – National Guardian Life Insurance Company (NGL), a Madison-based mutual life insurance company, announced the sale of Settlers Life Insurance Company, a Wisconsin domiciled insurer, to Everly Holdings, LLC, the owner of Everly, LLC, a direct-to-consumer insurance agency.
Approximately 225,000 policies that are geographically disbursed throughout the United States consisting of final expense and single premium immediate annuity are included in the agreement.
“This sale resulted in NGL reaching historical levels of capital, giving the company unprecedented financial strength. The transaction further positions NGL to grow in the Preneed insurance industry and will allow us to enhance our digital capabilities to serve funeral homes and their customers in new ways,” said Knut Olson, President & CEO of NGL.
“We’re excited to acquire Settlers Life and believe it will further enable Everly to execute on its mission of providing direct and digital access to high quality and affordable life insurance products,” said Doug Wolff, Chairman of Everly Holdings, LLC. “It was a pleasure working with Knut Olson and the entire NGL management team in bringing this transaction to close.”
Olson continued, “We greatly appreciate the hard work and dedication from both teams as we work to close this transaction and ensure a successful transition.”

WPS Military and Veterans Health® sponsors the Congressional Baseball Game
Event allows WPS to highlight its work for veterans
MADISON, Wis.—July 25, 2022—On July 28, Republicans face Democrats in the Congressional Baseball Game at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. The bipartisan baseball contest has taken place annually since 1909. WPS Military and Veterans Health, a division of WPS Health Solutions based in Madison, is an All-Star sponsor of the event, which is hosted by Congressional Sports for Charity.
Baseball fans can watch the game live on C-SPAN starting at 7:05 p.m. ET on Thursday, July 28. Funds raised at the event are donated to a variety of D.C.-area charities.
“The Congressional Baseball Game has a long tradition of promoting bipartisanship through friendly competition and raising money for charity,” said Rob Palmer, Senior Vice President of Government Relations for WPS Health Solutions.
“WPS is proud to sponsor the 2022 Congressional Baseball Game to raise funds for the Washington Literacy Center, The Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Washington, the Washington Nationals Philanthropies, and the United States Capitol Police Memorial Fund. The game provides us the opportunity to share with legislators and baseball fans the vital work we do for our veterans,” he said.

Findorff: Brian Hornung Named Chief Operating Officer
