Oak Bank is honored to announce it has been selected as an In Business magazine Executive Choice Award finalist in the banking for business category.
Executive Choice Award recipients in 37 business-related categories are chosen by area business leaders by completing a fill-in-the-blank survey, which means these companies have achieved top-of-mind awareness in the business community. Oak Bank was a finalist in 2016 as well.
“We are humbled that our business colleagues look to us to be a leader in the community,” said Terry Taylor, Oak Bank President. “We pride ourselves in providing not only great service through our business and personal banking relationships, but also by helping to make our communities stronger by supporting nonprofit organizations year-round.”
It’s not just all business at Oak Bank; it’s about relationships and building a community. In addition to showing the lighter side of staff at the bank through various videos (which you can find on their YouTube channel), Oak Bank supported over 125 nonprofits in 2019 – from sponsoring local efforts to hosting their own events throughout the year such as the annual Great Pumpkin Giveaway, which raises funds for an area nonprofit.
Oak Bank looks forward to celebrating its 20th anniversary next year.

Marsha Lindsay, of Lindsay Foresight & Stratagem, to Speak at SXSW 2020
Two years after launching the insight and corporate training firm called Lindsay Foresight & Stratagem, CEO Marsha Lindsay has been invited to speak at SXSW 2020 which bills itself as the premier global destination on imagining the future.
Lindsay Foresight & Stratagem conducts research on the future, then consults and educates C-Suites, boards and marketers with presentations and workshops on what’s next, and strategically best, for competitive advantage, value creation and effective marketing.
Others who’ve engaged Lindsay since the firm’s 2017 founding include Columbia University’s MBA program, the IPA for London’s Marketing Effectiveness Week, the American Association of Advertising Agencies, the Indie Summit in Beijing, Becker’s Ambulatory Surgery Center Conference (on the future of health care), the Fortune 100 and VC infused start-ups.
Distinguishing the firm is its global think tank of advisors that inform and vet research findings and recommended playbooks. Also differentiating are the research method and teaching skills perfected by Lindsay in the 25 years she used them at Brandworks University®, the acclaimed annual conference produced by Lindsay Stone & Briggs, since renamed LSB. (In 2015 Lindsay turned over management of the firm which, for 38 years prior, she ran as CEO.)
Lindsay Foresight & Stratagem is appropriately headquartered in Madison, Wisconsin, a national hub of innovation and discovery frequently described in the press as “ground level for the next big thing.”

“I am a teacher and advocate at heart and am excited to bring this perspective to Madison Ballet.”, said Castillo. “When we allow a student to become a dancer for even an hour, we provide space for them to express their emotions and plant a seed to blossom into a new path through the arts.”
Veronica Castillo is a native of El Paso, Texas and was raised in Iowa City, Iowa. She holds a BA in Art History and Non-Profit Organization from the University of Iowa, and a Master’s degree in Bilingual Education from Edgewood College.
