Intellectual Property and Business Trial Attorney Eli Van Camp Promoted to Partner at DeWitt LLP Law Firm

MADISON | MILWAUKEE | MINNEAPOLIS – DeWitt LLP announced today attorney Eli Van Camp, of its Madison office, has been promoted to Partner status within the firm.

Van Camp is a trial attorney focusing on intellectual property and business litigation. He represents businesses and individuals in patent, trademark, and copyright lawsuits, as well as contract and other commercial disputes.   He has served as lead counsel in multiple jury trials and litigated cases in state and federal courts around the country. 

He earned a J.D. from the University of Oregon School of Law and a B.A., with honors, from the University of Texas at Austin.  Van Camp is admitted to practice in the State Bars of Wisconsin, California, and Oregon.  He is also admitted and has litigated cases in the Western and Eastern Districts of Wisconsin, the Central District of California; the District of Oregon, the Eastern District of Texas, and the U.S. Courts of Appeal for the Federal Circuit and Seventh Circuit.  Prior to joining DeWitt, Van Camp practiced for several years in the Portland, Oregon metropolitan area.

Van Camp is a member of the Wisconsin Intellectual Property Law Association, California Lawyers Association – Intellectual Property Law Section, Oregon State Bar Intellectual Property Section, Madison Downtown Rotary Club and Dane County Bar Association.  Van Camp is a former Adjunct Professor of the University of Wisconsin Law School’s Pre-Trial Advocacy Seminar, and served as Editor-in-Chief of the Oregon Review of International Law and a Moot Court Board Member while attending the University of Oregon School of Law.

Sean LaBorde Named President of M3 Insurance

Sean LaBorde has been named president of M3 Insurance, effective January 1, 2020.  Mike Victorson will continue to serve as the agency’s chief executive officer (CEO).  In an effort to continue growing the agency, this decision gives LaBorde and Victorson the opportunity to focus on different areas of the business.

LaBorde has been a member of M3’s team since 1997, serving in a variety of capacities throughout his tenure, including his most recent role as executive vice president of sales and marketing.  “It’s an honor to be named president of an agency that has given and taught me so much throughout my career,” said LaBorde. “I’m excited to help lead M3 by remaining committed to doing what’s right for our clients, colleagues, industry partners and communities.”

Victorson started with M3 in 1992 and has served as M3’s president since 2003. As CEO, he will continue to focus on the strategic direction, investment strategy, and culture of the agency to help further enhance the M3 brand.

Capitol Bank Hires Jill Mack as Vice President Private Banking

Madison, WI: Ken Thompson, President and CEO of Capitol Bank, is pleased to announce the hiring of Jill Mack as Vice President Private Banking. Jill comes to Capitol Bank with over 30 years of banking experience, 19 of which she has specialized in private banking. A graduate from the University of Wisconsin – Madison with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance, Investment and Banking, Jill also holds a Certified Wealth Strategist Designation.

“Jill’s unique skillset will be an asset when providing tailored service to our Private Banking clients,” said Thompson.

Jill currently serves as a Board Member for Friends of UW Health. Her previous involvement includes Board Chair of Breast Cancer Recovery and a Ronald McDonald House volunteer.

DEWITT WELCOMES THERESA L. ROETTER, A SEASONED ADOPTION AND FAMILY LAW ATTORNEY TO ITS MADISON OFFICE

MADISON | MILWAUKEE | MINNEAPOLIS – DeWitt LLP announced today attorney Theresa L. Roetter joined its Madison office as an equity partner in the Family Law practice area.

Roetter specializes in Assisted Reproduction, Adoption, Guardianship, and LGBT Law. In particular, she provides assisted reproduction and adoption services to her clients. One of just a handful of attorneys in Wisconsin with this combination of practice areas, Theresa’s practice is state-wide and her clients come from Wisconsin, other U.S. States, and many foreign countries.

She drafts and negotiates gestational surrogacy agreements as well as sperm and egg donation agreements and has established parentage in many Wisconsin counties. She works closely with other attorneys, surrogacy matching agencies, and psychologists to ensure that all parties are well informed as they begin their surrogacy journey.

Roetter earned her J.D., form Marquette University Law School and her B.A., from St. Norbert College. She is admitted to practice in the State Bar of Wisconsin, the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. District Court of the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin.

Technology leader Teri Bruns joins WPS Board of Directors

MADISON, Wis.—Jan. 6, 2020—Teri L. Bruns has been elected to the Board of Directors for Wisconsin Physicians Service Insurance Corporation, doing business as WPS Health Solutions.

Her information technology career spans more than 25 years, from programming and systems engineering to her current leadership role in developing cloud-based services and emerging technology partnerships.

As Vice President of Global Partner Solutions at VMware, Bruns leads a cross-functional team charged with scaling VMware’s technology platforms and leveraging partnerships with global system integrators, solution outsourcers, and technology and independent software partners.

Earlier in her career, she was in technology and sales leadership roles with EMC, CoreBTS, and Symantec.

A native of Pennsylvania, Bruns has lived in the Madison area since 1978. She majored in Business at Edgewood College in Madison and has served on the American Family Children’s Hospital Advisory Board.

Bruns is a mentor for women in the technology industry and was one of the recipients of In Business magazine’s Women of Industry awards in 2018.

Nationally over multiple years, Bruns has been on CRN magazine’s Women of the Channel list, which honors women based on their professional accomplishments, demonstrated expertise, and ongoing dedication to the IT channel.
